About: I offer an unique and engaging course with a supportive teaching style. We will complete the legal required 8 hours plus a trip halfway through to the range for qualification.NOTE: This course will be split into 2 days, with the qualification on day 1.
About this Course:
The course includes the legally required 8 hours PLUS the time for the required qualification and travel to the range. This course is completed in 1 Day and is about 10hrs. I know it's a long day, but I'll make it fun! NOTE: This course will be split into 2 days, with the qualification on day 1.
The range is 25min from the venue - Located in New Hill, NC about 3mi off US1.
Venue: North Carolina Studio 140 W. Main St. Sanford, NC 27332
Time: 9am - appox. 7pm NOTE this course will be 2pm - 6pm Sat and Sun
Range: Woody’s Rifle Club | 180 Woodland Rd. New Hill, NC 27562
This is a 1 day class and is limited to 6 people. Please bring a Valid driver's license or Military ID.
Because we have to hold the venue, there are no refunds unless we cancel the class. I am happy to reschedule you.

Topics:
Demonstration of the ability to safety handle, load, unload, store, secure and fire a handgun.
Identify the places that handguns are allowed and not allowed to be carried if the individual has a CCH permit.
Identify the major components of a semi-automatic handgun and revolver.
Demonstration of a baseline proficiency in self-defense marksmanship fundamentals.
Explain the provisions in NC Common and Statutory Law in which deadly physical force would be justified.
Taught Techniques and Qualification:
Fundamentals: Grip, Stance, Presentation
Safe Loading / Unloading
30 Rounds, 21 to pass
You will need at least 50 rounds for the course. I have 9mm ammunition for sale and rentals available.
Safety and Personal Items:
Eye protection: ballistic rated shooting glasses or ballistic rated wrap-around prescription glasses. Clear lenses are recommended
Ear protection: Plugs or muffs (electronic hearing protection is highly recommended)
Closed-toe shoes
Weather appropriate clothing
Headwear with a bill is highly recommended
Water
Bugs spray and sunscreen
Snacks, bagged lunch
Firearms and gear:
Serviceable lubed handgun. If you need a rental, please select the rental drop down option.
At least 1 magazine, 2 is preferable. If your magazines have less than a 10 round capacity, you will need to reload during the strings of fire. I will assist if you have questions or need guidance.
Quality holster is recommended, otherwise bring the container you received when you purchased your handgun.
Minimum of 30 rounds; factory new or factory reloaded ammunition only. I have 9mm ammo for sale at market price.
Notepad and a writing tool.
Spare handgun weapon (optional).
